• We are proud of our Cad Cam system, which we have used for several years. We were among the first laboratories to have this system in Hungary. Gypsum pattern, prepared on the basis of the impression, is scanned and after the information has been processed by a computer, the frame is fabricated by computer controlled diamond milling heads from blocks prefabricated in a closed millling area (see “Materials”), which, after filtration, are veneered with ceramic to produce the final form.
    We were among the first in Hungary to have Cad Cam technology, and are proud of many years of experience obtained therewith. Nowadays there are lots of laboratories, offering Cad Cam technology, but if we have an in-depth investigation of the topic, we can see that lots of systems are called in this way on the market, but not all of them are proven. Only that technology can be called Cad Cam, where design and manufacturing are completed with the aid a computer. Pre-moulded and scanned techniques are called „key cutting” by the professional slang. We have used real Cad Cam from the very first moment, which, owing to the ongoing development of computer technique and our system programs becomes more and more user-friendly and up-to-date.
  • Galvanization – ion migration serving dentistry
    For further details about the procedure, please read “Materials “. What provides the opportunity of galvanisation for our laboratory? In addition to replacements fabricated with this technology, it is possible to create silver-galvanic surface on the pattern of technical fillings, inlays and onlays. Its importance lies in that it is harder than the highest quality dental gypsum, more resistant to fracture, and the surface is better resistant to wear, and more precise fit can be achieved with works prepared on the basis of such patterns. It is also possible to cover metal part of metal plate type prostheses with galvanic gold coating. There may be esthetic reasons thereof, when a thin gold layer is applied on the metal plate, accordingly it involves less costs. In the course of time it might be necessary to restore this layer, and it can be easily and quickly replaced.

    There may be medico-biological reason for applying gold-galvanic layer, too. Some patients have allergy to nickel-free metals. Allergy caused by gold occures extremely rarely, as against to nickel-free medical metals, its strength is lower than that of the other medical metals, the price thereof, however, is higher. With the help of thick gold-galvanic surface, metal can be moulded from precious metal-free medical metals (its strength is higher), the weight thereof can be reduced (it is especially important in case of replacements in the upper jaw), and the price thereof is lower than those including cast gold plate

    We have a Solaris galvanic machine in our laboratory, huge benefit whereof is that at a time 16 galvanic patterns can be attached, even in case the aim is to achieve different layer thickness, as each of them can be individually controlled by a computer. Therefore in case there are a few works prepared at the same time, there is no need to schedule them, as none of the works has to delay.
  • Laser welding – We believe in laser ray
    Laser soldering is a rapid and safe procedure, which can be utilised in dental technique in versatile manner. From the point of view of patients it is very important that it expedites our work, thereby reducing the period of time while replacements are prepared.
    Our partners engaged in jewellery industry or optics, often utilise the possibility of laser welding.
    Laser welding – With the velocity of light on the way of welding
    Laser welding equipment is not cheap, but it is very versatile. This is why we invested in a laser welding equipment, which facilitate our work, certain replacements can be prepared more rapidly. Although it cannot replace the conventional soldering methods in each case, it has a lower error limit than this latter one, it is accurate, safe, and allows for many repairs, which cannot be performed with any other method, and in this way we can avoid to prepare again a replacement.
    Soldered surface can be polished with the laser welding device, and there is no need for any special after-work.
  • Deep drawing – Simple technique, versatile utilisation
    Deep drawing is a procedure, based on a simple idea, yet it can be utilised in many areas of dental technique. Warmed up, soft foil is pressed on the mould with condensed air, which after cooling down, will have absolutely accurate dimensions and will be shape stable.
    Foils of manufacturers have various range of colours and strength, subject to the field of application.
    Deep drawing – Undeservedly forgotten
    Many labs disregard this simple method – maybe looking as if that of the „stone age” -, yet its advantage is exactly its simplicity.
    Owing to clever development it can be utilised in various fields of dental technique, e.g. prosthetics, metal technology, implantology, orthodontics. There is slight possibility of errors, with experience, which can be attained within a short period of time, favourable outcome is always guaranteed. Our manufacturer partner Erkodent ensures superior quality. More details can be found in menu „ Materials”. In many practices the possibility of deep drawing is not dealt with, yet it is worth using it!
  • Metal casting without metal from ceramics
    This technology, primarily having esthetic values, is an extremely interesting and remarkable procedure, in the course whereof the core of the final replacement is moulded from wax, then, similarly to metal casting, it is embedded, baked and the honey-like liquid, live glass ceramic mass, especially developed for this purpose, is pressed into the negative mould with the help of a special oven. After taking out and cleaning the produced transparent ceramic core is then veneered with its own veneering material, thereby allowing for producing layers of various shades and transparency, featuring natural teeth.
    Press ceramic – Chapters about beauty
    From among metal-free technologies, it has the most natural affect, and it is preferred by our dentists most frequently for especially esthetic restaurations. In Hungary we were one of the first laboratories to deal with pressed ceramic inlays, onlays, veneers, gathering lots of experience, from moulding upto final workmanship. The head of our company has delivered many lectures, practical exhibitions and courses about this topic. We have compiled considerable volume of documents with photos, about various cases. It is to be mentioned hereby how important we find to implement good communication between a practice and the laboratory. In cases where esthetics is of outstanding importance, patients are often invited to our laboratory, or the technicians visit the practices at a preliminarily fixed date.
  • Titanium casting – The bridled ancient power
    Nowadays there are relatively few laboratories having titanium casting equipment. Titanium cannot be cast in the conventional manner, as it is oxidising at a temperature lower than its melting point. This is why casting is performed in argon gas. Dental metal alloys, casting whereof can be performed in the conventional manner, can be cast in titanium casting machine, and the environment with argon gas has a beneficial affect on the casting mechanism thereof.
    Titanium casting – Practice makes master
    We have been casting titanium since 1999. Owing to our many years of experience and communication with the manufacturer, we can produce excellent, constant result with a well-proven casting technology, be it a practice or another laboratory from among our partners
    There was a time when titanium casting was underevaluated by the profession, saying that the final result is doubtful, there may be problems when veneering is performed. As far as titanium is concerned, the problem is that they try to cast, while cold machining means future.
    According to our experience,if all the technological specifications are strictly observed, neither casting, nor veneering can have doubtful outcome!
    Furthermore it is important that we apply the complete system of Dentaurum company, which has been parallely developed, from casting to veneering, which provides further guarantee to get a perfect product.
  • The bursting development of technology in the dental industry offered an opportunity for dental technicians and implantologists to use 3D IT solutions all and more frequently. Thanks to the digital manufacture of prototypes human errors can be eliminated and the perfection of the artificial tooth made is not a matter of the cunning or the manual skills of the dental technician any more.   • Non-precious metal free dental alloy, the affordable aesthetics.
    In general for material reasons people decide to have non-precious metal dental restorations. Nowadays in an ideal case (if appropriate place is available for a fixed restoration) high-level esthetic appearance can be produced with non-precious metal alloys, too. Very often, however, allergy to metals occurs later, which will then exclude the use of metal alloy.
    In most of the cases Nickel caused allergic reactions (mainly those dental metal alloys were used in the past, which contained Nickel and Chromium). Therefore we were one of the dentistries to solely use Nickel-free alloys, thereby reducing to a minimum level the number of allergic complaints. Restorations in the mouth, made of two different dental metal alloys may react as galvanic elements, the first indication whereof is a constant sour flavour, later followed by tingle.
    Remanium 2001- without Precious Metal
    NDay by day we have produced lots of work from Remanium 2001 Cobalt-Chromium alloy for many years. Using this the metal structure of both fixed and removable restorations can be made. Its thermal expansion coefficient makes it excellently suitable for ceramic veneering, and the applied technology quarantees constantly good results.

  • Gold-ceramic, or sun shines under ceramics
    Only few people know that dental gold is not merely a status symbol. Gold, as a noble metal may very rarely cause allergic reactions in human organization. Moreover, in general a much higher aesthetic result can be achieved with fixed replacements made of ceramic fused to gold, as owing to its special gloss it reflects warm and yellow colour from the depth of ceramics, thereby making a bridge or crown look alive.
    We have successfully used several dental gold alloys for many years. Nowadays, however, solely „bio” alloys are used, coming up to high level professional expectations. These are 86/12 gold-platinum alloys, which are silver and copper free precious metal alloys with high gold content, therefore can be veneered in a safe way, without any risk of affecting the colour of the crown, and the individual shade of tooth, selected from the shade guide, can be achieved on a standard level. Owing to the bending strength thereof, veneering does not get damaged even in case of preparing a full, or multi-unit bridgeworks.
  • Titanium, Child of the Earth
    There are many arguments for using Titanium in dental applications. The most important ones are as follows: it is the 9th most abundant element of small specific weigth, constituting about 0.63% of the Earth’s crust, and it is antiallergic. Using it in implantology, the human bone tissue connects to the oxide layer formed on the surface thereof. Nowadays it is the most frequently used material in implantology all over the world. Owing to its small specific weight, the weight of the restoration is considerably reduced, while convenience is increased. Applied as a metal plate it does not cause any off flavour in the mouth. Titanium frame veneered with ceramics provides extremely lifelike, esthetic appearance. It can be applied even in such a case when there are other, older dental metal alloys in the mouth, there is no need for replacing the same. It looks transparent on X-ray films, it is the only metal which can be X-rayed, therefore a dentist can check the condition of tooth stumps underneath bonded fixed restorations, too, without any destruction or removal of the restorations. Its production and processing is expensive, resulting in the higher price thereof. Yet, it is worth deciding to have it, as it is extremely versatile.
    Titanium – The versatile giant
    Titanium technology is one of our company’s titles to fame. Titanium, we apply, is marketed by the company Dentaurum, and has the highest purity from among different types thereof, used in dentistry. Our patients’ feedback on the completed dental work is especially positive. Used together with formerly made replacements, containing other medical metal alloys, it does not form any galvanic element in wet environment of the mouth. According to the technical literature allergic problems occur even more rarely than in case of gold. Cold forming thereof can be perfectly performed, the finishing, however, requires increased attention. In Greek mythology the Titans, Oranos and Gaia, children of the Sky and Earth, represent the ancient power, and owing to their inventions they are the benefactors of mankind, who were then imprisoned in the deepest part of the underworld.
  • Galvanoplastic Gold – its chemical advantages
    While casting is a physical process, galvanization is a chemical one, which, excluding all the possiblities of errors, occuring in case of precision metal casting, provides unique homogenity of the substance structure, accuracy and stress relief. It allows excellent veneering with ceramics, and ceramic micro composite, as well; bio-compatible, esthetic and extremely precise single crowns, inlays, onlays, secondary crowns and precision mechanical fixing elements can be prepared with this procedure. Solaris electrolitic liquid of Degudent is free from derivatives of cyan and arsenic, gold and ammonium sulfite complex, the galvanic layer depositing therefrom is always dense, solid and free of contamination.
  • Vita – ceramic veneering materials – individual shade in the ceramics range
    Vita ceramics offer a wide range of opportunities to fully adapt the shade, light and shape of replacements to the patient’s own teeth, character and requests. Its homogenous structure offer easy cleaning, and its pastes and paints of various light permeability and colours provide extended individualisation.
    Vita- metal ceramic veneering materials – Versatile quality
    High temperature VM95 ceramic coating material of the Company Vita absolutely fits to the versatile profile of our laboratory due to its suitability for coating high gold content and precious metal-free alloys, on the one part, and on the other part its collection, paints and technology ensure for us to be able to fulfil any – very often extraordinary – requirements, and high esthetic expectations set towards us.
    Its Schulter mass makes it possible to reduce to a minimum the irritation of sulcus, and create a more esthetic colour transition at the margin.
    Crowns and bridges fabricated with the CAD-DAM technology of company Sirona are coated by VM7 ceramic mass of the company Vita.
  • Press ceramics- non-metallic perfection
    Nowadays up-to-date metal ceramic technologies can provide life-like replacements in ideal cases. There are, however, cases where due to the slight possibility of preparation resulting from a protruding tooth stump, or the biological conditions, the success of veneering is adversely affected.
    However, in case of the most ideal case, a metal ceramic restoration cannot compete with the non-metallic technology, from the aspect of esthetics. In the latter case there is no any metal frame, which would prevent the light from penetrating the ceramics. It is the tooth stump of the patient which seems to penetrate through the replacement, adding its colour, thereby enhancing the life-like appearance of the work. It is important to mention that the bending strength, fracture resistance are relatively low, therefore the esthetic value is the primary strength of this technology. It is primarily applied on front teeth, and to prepare fillings prepared in teh dental labs. In case of discoloured tooth stumps, which are in bad condition, its application requires careful consideration.
    Press ceramic pill – medication, so that esthetics should not be a head-ache
    Nowadays it happens very often that patients want to have their front teeth grinded expressly for esthetic reason. They are often young people, whose pulpa dentis is less narrowed, having high expectations towards the replacement, as they have sacrificed their healthy teeth in order to have good appearance. Nothing can compete with the outcome of press ceramic procedure in the field of natural look. Shade guide of the manufacturer enhances the improved communication between the practice and the laboratory.
    As dentistry is healthcare, and is in no way beauty industry, in addition to esthetics biocompatibility is also important. Press ceramics contain leucite crystals, which are potassium aluminium silicate. Instead of this lots of heavy metal-aluminium silicate are used in synthetic ceramics.
    Press core can be very well formed, coloured prior to the application of the veneering material, in order to achieve the most meticulous individual appearance.
    Pressing technology provides excellent fit.
  • Triceram- veneer of titanium
    This ceramic has been developed by the manufacturer especially for titanium. As far as its colour selection, painting materials are concerned, and with its masses of various transparency, it is as versatile as veneering ceramics of precious metal-free and precious metal replacements, its colours can be excellently fitted, therefore the work completed perfectly fits with a formerly prepared replacement, too.
    Triceram- because titanium requires particular care
    Triceram is a perfect material for veneering milled and cast frames. Its thermal expansion coefficient has been adjusted to titanium. Its adhesion to the frame is far above the expected and prescribed minimum. International technical journals have mentioned its excellent quality on several occasions. The shades of Vita shade guide can be excellently reproduced with it. Wide variety thereof provides opportunity for the dental technician to fully satisfy individual needs.
    Since Triceram veneering ceramics of titanium is also a product of Dentaurum, its development has been performed parallel with the casting head of titanium, therefore the simultaneous use of the two materials is fully safe.

  • Manufactured dentures – unobserved change
    It is one of the most inconvenient changes in our life when we loose our teeth, and at that moment the most important thing is to replace the missing tooth as soon as possible, and make it the least visible for the others. Cosmo HLX manufactured dentures, used in our laboratory, offer various opportunities for front teeth not only in size and colour, but also in respect of the character itself, too, making it easier to adjust the replacement to the individual, the remaining teeth and the character of the face. In case of a really individual request, our excellent professionals will grind the appropriate units of the manufactured set of teeth to size and shape. In case of necessity individual painting can be applied, too.
    Manufactured ceramic dentures are more esthetic, at the same time a bit more expensive than manufactured acrylic dentures. Vita ceramic teeth used in our laboratory can be easily fitted to Vita veneering ceramics, which is a great benefit in case of combined works.
    Cosmo HLX, Vita – “naturally” from denture manufacturers
    With regard to its esthetics and resistance to wear we have been using various Cosmo dentures of the company Dantaurum for a long time. It is a highly cross linked polymer, providing for excellent stability and strength. It has various forms; its shades can be painted to achieve individual apperance. From anatomial point of view it has esthetic occlusal surface, at the same time, however its occlusal pits are not too deep, the angle of its cusp plane is reduced to 20°, allowing for easy articulation, and the work completed rarely requires any further griding; it enhances wearing comfort, as in general with elderly patients the mandibular joint is accustomed to rather abraded teeth..
    In respect of manufactured dentures the pre-fabricated ceramic teeth provide a better appearance. Our laboratory has decided to use the product of the company Vita, which, in respect of its colour, is easy to fit to Vita veneering ceramics. Therefore in case of combined works, it is easier to achieve esthetic result with materials of the same manufacturer.
  • Weropress denture plastic – wherein dentures are embedded
    Not only dentures we use, but also the denture plastic can be given individual character by painting, thereby allowing for achieving a really individual, life-like impression with a removable replacement, too. This way we can offer an artistic work even for those who cannot afford an implant, or due to their biological conditions it is impossible to place an implant. It happens very often that although there is sufficient volume of bone to accommodate an implant, from the aspect of aesthetics and natural appearance it is impossible to achieve the required impression with a bridge, fitted on several implants, replacing the whole set of teeth. In such cases a removable denture attached to implants can be a solution.
    Weropress – gingiva: just like ours
    Weropress cold polymerization denture plastic has each time met superior esthetic expectations of our dentists so far. It can be easily repaired, accurate to dimension, dimensionally stable and can be individualised by painting. Wide selection of shades includes 3 base and 4 intensive colours, which can be compounded with one another, enabling us to create lots of other shades. On certain areas base colours can be emphasized by intensive colours. From Cleer version nightguard can be prepared, too.

  • K+B – although temporary, it is invisible
    From K+B plastic we primarily prepare temporary replacements in our laboratory, if, however, it is necessary, it is suitable for veneering, and for metal-free works, too. In the field of prosthetics it can be used for making even individual size and shade dentures, and works prepared from the same material can be repaired with its help. (Formerly it used to be a widely applied veneering material, but by now it has become secondary in the field of application.) Its biggest benefit is its favourable price. It can be polished to high gloss, it is esthetic, offers wide range of shades. The temporary replacement promptly helps a patient to adapt himself/herself to changed conditions until the final restauration is prepared. It can prevent the prevent gingiva from collapsing.
    K+B- temporary solution, repair, individualization
    Apart from a few cases, we prepare temporary replacements from K+B plastic in our laboratory. Although Biodent K+B Plus shades, which we use, are not identical with Vita shade guide, the conversion table is used to help reconciliation of colours in the laboratory, so it is enough for the dentist to use Vita shade guide. Wide range of shades allows for achieving individual shades. It is a highly cross-linked polymer, which guarantees high strength, resistance to fracture, and can be polished to high gloss
  • Tooth whitening, prevention of clenching, orthodontics – world of deep-drawn foils
    Nowadays people tend to pay increasingly high attention to their appearance. Many patients decide to have their teeth whitened as they are not happy with their original tooth shade, or because of their bad habits their teeth got discoloured. One of the methods of tooth whitening is a whitening foil that is prepared by dental technicians.
    What else is the deep-drawn foil good for? Lots of people clench their teeth during the night, and they may not be aware of their bad habit. Not only for our partner can we cause inconveniences with this during the night. Clenching results in extensive wear of permanent dentition, which will have further severe consequences. In order to prevent it, a nightguard can be prepared.
    Erkodent foils, applied by us, are highly resistant to fracture, certified to international standards, according to which these are first class medical products.
    Deep-drawn foils-accuracy, versatility, quality
    In our laboratory we use Erkodent foils to produce various dental products with deep-drawing technology. These foils have 93/42 EWG certification: they are qualified as first class medical products.
    Primarily we prepare tooth whitening splints and night-guards, even with bilayer, which ensures feeling of high comfort of the person who wears it.
    (Note: we also fabricate in articulator polymer (plastic) night-guards.) Certainly we make other deep-drawn products, too, e.g. individual tray, base plate. With the latter one it is beneficial, that denture acrylate is linked with the base plate foils, therefore the base plate, tried in the mouth, will provide basis of the actual denture. This will allow for easy application of the base plate method elaborated by Dr. Miklós Kaan.

Training system

As it is important for us to follow the changes and development of the profession, we attach high importance to trainings. We regularly take part in courses organised by international suppliers and training courses where new materials and technologies are addressed. Over and over again we organise in-house further trainings, inviting demonstrators of big companies where there is a possiblity to exchange experience, discuss any questions or problems that occured. We are proud of the professional day, organised by us on a yearly basis, where our dentists, members of the dental technicians’ industrial board, lecturers of dental technician’s training, and the technicians of other partner laboratories are welcome. Each time we address several actual topics, always different, when well-known, experienced lecturers of the actual topics are invited. Professional day is always ended at the white table, with an informal discussion.
